Is Miriam the richest of them all?
Though Basset Hounds may not be the dog breed that first comes to mind when you think of high value dogs they manage to hold their own. The dog with the largest ears in the world is a basset hound named Mr. Jeffries, his ears are 11.5 inches long and insured for a whopping $47,800!

Have a talk with a Basset Hound
It's hard not to smile when you see a basset hound lumbering down the street, but don't let their gate fool you - they are second only to Blood Hounds in tracking down scents.
Bassets are an especially friendly breed and thus often chosen as a companion for children. They also tend to be vocal with a low murmuring whin...e, making their owners feel as though they are having a conversation with their dogs!
If your heart is melting with these happy faces we'd like to introduce you to Bessy, Elsie, Lenny, Rugby and Tara!
