Maintaining a Labrador Coat

Though Labs tend to be low maintanence in the grooming deparment, they do shed twice year, called "blowing their coats."  They are moderate shedders, and there will be a certain amount of hair loss through the year, especially in more temperate climates, but it does vary from dog to dog.

Labs need to be brushed on a regular basis (about once a week) to keep them clean, but do not need to be bathed frequently. A shampoo may be required if your dog actually smells bad, but most dust and dirt can be clean by merely hosing your dog off.  In actuallity shampooing the dog too often is not a good idea as shampoo will strip the natural oils out of their coat.  A healthy coat will repel dirt and shed water easily and look at the shine that comes from Oleana's coat!

Oleana
Oleana, is happy, healthy girl with eyes that will just melt your heart.  She about six months old and 25 pounds, but still growing.  Let us know if you are as mesmorized by Oleana as we are and would like to meet her!
